History
The NITCO Group began in 1956 with the foundation of a partnership corporation in Delhi called The Northern India Tiles Corporation (Delhi) with the purpose of manufacturing mosaic tiles. Mr. A.N. Talwar (HUF), Mr. P.N. Talwar, and Mr. W. N. Talwar were the firm's partners. Nitco Limited, also known as Nitco Tiles Pvt Ltd, was founded on July 25, 1966 as a private limited business. The firm began operations with a mosaic tile production facility in Thane, Maharashtra, with a capacity of 0.6 million square feet per year. In 1984, the company started processing and distribution of imported marble.

The firm was transformed to a public limited company on January 25, 1996, and the name was changed to Nitco Tiles Ltd. In 1997, they began full-scale commercial production in Alibaug, Maharashtra, with a daily capacity of 10,000 square meters. Nitco ceramic tiles plant was upgraded in 2004 and expanded the manufacturing capacity in 2006. The company installed a 5.5 MW captive power plant (provided by Turbo mach S A Switzerland) at its ceramic tile manufacturing facility in Alibaug, Maharashtra, in January 2011. During the financial year 2010-11, the state-of-the-art marble processing factory in Silvassa was further expanded.
